“Will’s” training concentrated on Western
Pleasure. With minimal showing, he was Top Five in the 3-year-old
Western Pleasure Challenge during the 2002 Paint World Show.
Since
arriving in California he had been under the guidance of Rod
and Roger. Late in 2002 Bernice became the proud owner of
“The Will To Do.” There was one hitch in the plan, though,
he was a stallion.
“Will”
was bred and raised by Lawrence Quarter Horses in Minnesota.
Karen Lawrence has been a wonderful resource on “Will’s” early
history. They have followed “Will’s” successes and kindly
congratulated “Will” in many of their ads. “Will’s” sire,
Zippo Can Do QH was AQHA World Champion Junior Western Pleasure
and QH Congress Reserve Champion Junior Western Pleasure.
“Will’s”
dam, Wee Wilma was a 2-year-old Western Pleasure AQHA World
Champion. She was the talk of the show circuit as one of the
greatest Western Pleasure horses of all time.
Wee
Wilma died when “Will” was only 16 days old. Karen tells of
how he survived from drinking his milk from a bucket; there
were no bottle feedings for this orphaned foal.
“The Will To Do” is Zippo Can Do's first born and his first
APHA World Champion.
"Will"
is standing at Deromedi and Safty Performance Horses for the
2007 breeding season. For breeding inquiries contact Rod at
(916) 687-8365.
In
addition to APHA Breeders Trust, AQHA Incentive Fund, NSBA
and OPHB Triple Crown Futurities, “Will” is being nominated
to many other futurities. We are also offering special consideration
to proven performance mares and other discount programs.
